Springbok great Joost Van der Westhuizen has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a Motor Neuron Disease which leads to paralysis, speech and swallowing difficulties and problems with breathing. Like all Aussie Formula One fans, I have been mystified by Mark Webber’s performances this year. Not many people would doubt either his talent or desire, but it seems that his season is falling apart because of his getaways off the starting grid. On countless occasions (the last 2 grand prix in particular), I have watched with agony as Mark is bundled down the grid order at the start of races, especially when he squanders an invaluable pole position.
What is going on? Surely Red Bull Racing, would consider this a priority considering the number of championship points squandered. You would think that they would have the resources to remedy this considering they are the world championship team. Ultimately though, this is for Mark to fix, because as an Aussie F1 fan nothing is more painful.
